Cal rolled his eyes, "I get ambushed by aliens every week and Cory's got Charles the fuck friendly ghost following him around. Yeah, we've got great luck."

Austin sighed. "Yep. Of course. Dreams, smashed. Smashed into bitter shards of glass and pain." He let out a long, loud breath of frustration before beginning to pace the room. "Well, what, exorcise the bitch? Cause, that's kinda like trying to exorcise Samhain or something. It's hard. Not impossible, but really, freakin' hard."

He stopped abruptly before walking again, posture slumped.

"Plus, we have these three. They probably attract trouble like a lonely girl in a bar."

Dustin nodded.

"Yeah, it'll be more difficult. But they can shoot, right?" He pulled a watery grin. "Better than nothing. And Mastema is strong but also a bit of a showoff. He's got a higher chance of slipping up and whatnot. We can do this."

Fingers crossed.

Cory continued his fidgeting and stared at the floor. Maybe he should just stay here. Or go find the rest of their class. Surely a teacher must have missed them by now. It's not like he'd be any use in a fight. He was terrified of using weapons and he could hardly hold his own in a fight. Not to mention all the ghosts that would end up following him. But he couldn't just abandon everybody. He hated this.

Cal glanced at Cory, guessing what was going through the kids head. "You wanna go find the teachers? Steve and I can help out enough here."

Cory jumped, it always startled him when Cal knew what he was thinking. "N-no, I...I can...I want...I want to do something to help..."

"H-He doesn't have to!" Austin said quickly, stepping up. "I can stay with him while you guys go take care of this, if you want..."

Dustin shot him a look.Dude, what?

He's just a kid. And with a crappy life, at that. He needs options.

Dustin frowned but nodded after a moment.

Cory shook his head. "I want to help. Somehow...I just...don't know how..." His hands were clenched now, his fingernails digging into the skin.

Cal couldn't help but feel sorry for him. "Cory...you don't have to. You're still just a kid."

"So are you."

"Eh, well yeah, but I'm still older than you! Makes me the more responsible one."

Steve blinked, "But Steve is even ol-"

"Not now Steve."

"Ah..."
"Meow."

Cory flinched when his nails finally broke the skin on his palms. "I hate this...but... I can't just leave..."
He gasped as he felt the familiar chill when a ghost was trying to possess him. His whole body shuddered at the unexpected sensation and the boy went quiet.
Charles spoke through Cory's body. "Suborn little brat."

A glare shot across Cal's face. "I thought you were leaving, bastard..."

"Yes well this little idiot is determined to get himself killed. Can't have that now can we?" Charles chuckled.

Dustin scowled and stepped forward. "Look, dude, Charles. You're a freak. Okay. But get out of this kid! I mean, what the hell makes him so special? If you're so worried about him getting hurt, take out some of the members of that freaky cult!"

"Why is he so special?" Austin asked. Possessions were nothing new to them but for a ghost to be possessive of a vessel was rare. "You never knew him. Maybe you had a son? Or a little brother?"

"Maybe you drowned your best friend as a kid and now want to make things right by using Cory?" Dustin spat out through grit teeth. Freaking ghosts. "And you're only putting him in more danger with this! You're impeding his senses and ability to function!" He crossed his arms. "You're going to get him killed!"

Charles smirked, "I'm not the only ghost so possessive of him, I'm just the strongest." He chuckled. "I don't know what kind of worlds you angels travel to, but in ours, this boy is the only vessel capable of surviving possessions by ghosts as strong as myself." He popped 'his' neck and sneered, "As for getting him killed that's hardly a problem now, unless of course you two try to exorcise me, if that happens I'll be taking him with me, but if you can suck up your precious pride and morals I'm actually here to help you deal with that annoying cult."

"Like we could trust you." Cal hissed, clenching his fist, wishing he could beat the ghost to a pulp.

Charles merely chuckled at the boys anger. "You don't have a choice at this point."

Charles chuckled, "Talk about asking a stupid question." He walked over to a desk at the back of the room and pulled a switchblade out of a drawer. "Don't think I can't fight angel."

Dustin sighed heavily at the appearance of the knife. "I don't see how that was as stupid question..."

"Course you don't." Austin approached Charles carefully. "Look, the demon guy we're dealing with can probably sever your ties here with a snap! And the shock of that could really screw Cory up. So we're not sure this is such a good idea. We're not even sure what our first plan of action is even going to be yet!" He held his hands up slowly, to show he had nothing, just in case. Knives made him jumpy. "But we won't send you back just yet. So what do you say we should do."

Charles smirked, "Stop acting so high and mighty. I went and had a little chat with a friend of mine while you losers were dealing with the punks here. Heh heh, you idiots don't know the rules of our world. You're not even supposed to be here. You might be able to force me out of the kid, but you can't do anything to send me on, neither can that demon what's-his-face. You're also underestimating this little brat." He jabbed a thumb at Cory's chest. "He won't die so easily. Contrary to what you think he's a hell of a lot more stubborn than I am." he grinned, "As for a plan, you should know better than to ask me. I'm more of a brute force kinda guy." He chuckled. "I can say one thing though, other than your demon buddy, those cult obsessed punks'll be easy to take out. Of course with all the ghosts that seem to be possessing people left and right around here that might cause some trouble."

"Not to mention you're supposedly going to be watching our backs." Cal scowled.

Charles sneered, "I never said anything like that. I'm just here to make sure our dear little Cory doesn't go and get himself killed."

"It's not that we're not allowed to be here, it's that the there's a bigger fish out there for us and she just happened to swim into the pond." Dustin sneered, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "We got what I guess you could call a pass to get here and now we're just taking care of the little things along the way."

"And just as we're possibly underestimating Cory, you're underestimating the demon. Just because you say you're some bigshot ghost doesn't mean you're anything close." He looked around worriedly. "Come on, I can hear more guards coming. And they're not possessed so if they find us, things won't go over so well."

"Pass or no pass you still don't get the rules." Charles smirked, "And I never said anything about being better than that demon. I just said he can't cut my ties with this world. I know full well demons are on a whole other level than ghosts. I'm not stupid." He chuckled, "Anyway, there's one doorway out of this room, if we don't get out now we'll be stuck with those guards no matter what."

"Psh, the only way you guys can get out..." Dustin muttered under his breath but stopping short as Austin;s elbow jammed itself into his ribs. "Ow!"

"Be nice and just go with it." He hissed, moving forward to look out both ends of the hallway. "We've got about thirty seconds." He ducked his head back in. "I suggest we get moving."

The ghost chuckled, "If you're so annoyed with us mortals then just leave and be done with it."

"Che." Cal frowned, "Would you guys stop arguing and get your butts in gear already." He motioned to Steve, "Give me some grenades will ya, I have a feeling this is gonna get rough."

"Hm!" Steve nodded and pulled a small capsule off of his belt and tossed it to Cal.

"Right then losers, which way's the fastest way out of here?"

Dustin moved to stick his tongue out at Cal before being quickly stopped by Austin.

Stop acting like you're 12!

Dude, I died at age 13. It's close.

Austin shook his head and stepped out quickly into the hallway, looking left and right again, before ushering the rest out of the room with a wave of his arm. "Hurry!"

Steve followed with Charles close behind.

Austin scanned around the corner at the end of the hallway, cautious.

"... I think we're good for now." He motioned for the others to move ahead with a jerk of his neck, placing a finger over his lips to tell them to stay quiet.

Dustin moved to the front of the group, Austin behind, just in case. The walked quickly down the brightly lit hallways, stopping to act nonchalant if they ever passed a civilian.

"Too many freagin' meat bags..." Dustin mumbled under his breath as a scantily clad woman hanging onto a business-like man passed by.

"No kidding...and how the hell have we not been kicked out for being underage yet?" Cal asked quietly. He guessed people just didn't care enough to alert security, which he guessed was good for them since most of the guards were possessed anyway.

Steve walked quietly behind Cal, the cat still in his shirt staying quiet. "Something is not right..."

Cal sighed, "Something's always not right."

Behind Steve, Charles frowned, "The alien's onto something. The small time spirits around here are antsy too...something's up."

"Oh, yay!" Dustin exclaimed sarcastically before letting out a puff of air. "Just what we need. Complications."

"Please, tell me the last time this has been easy."

Dustin glared at his twin.

"... Denied."

Charles smirked, "It's just the small fry that are agitated, so it's nothing too serious."

"Can't get to the boss without beating a few lackeys right?" Cal sighed, "Why is it always like this?"

The ghost chuckled, "It's called strategy punk. You weaken the prey before they make it into the real trap."

"And of course you'd know all about that, bastard." Cal muttered, scowling.

Steve frowned and cocked his head to one side. "Shh...I hear it. Outside."

Austin gripped his colt tightly in hand, knowing that it would be useless with the humans around. Really, all he could use it for now was a bludgeoning tool. Thank God it was iron...

Cal sighed, "Well I guess we've got no choices, outside it is."

The group continued their way through the halls of the casino, avoiding what people they could until they finally came to a metal door with an "Exit" sign above it.

Dustin and Austin stared at the door a moment.

"... You first." Dustin said.

"No, you, I insist."

"Please, it'd be rude of me."

"No, no, it's no problem."

"Come on, age before beauty."

"Beauty before brains."

At the incredulous looks of the people behind them, Dustin scoffed.

"Dude, we're angels! We don't like conflict! Reading the friggin Bible for once..."

"Actually," Austin interjected. "Angels are depicted as warriors of the Lord in the Bible. Not harp playing babies. We fight the wars."

"Shut up."

"Fine."

(Because Cal needs to show off his baddassery. *shot* )

Cal frowned and walked up to the door, "Pussies." He kicked the door open and stepped outside.
"Aw shit..." A large group of demons and possessed people turned to glare at him and the now open door.
"Ack!" He ducked back into the door way as several of the people pulled out guns and started shooting.
Cal sat against the wall next to the door.

Charles chuckled, "Smooooth."

"Hey at least I did something. You've been taking a back seat this whole time loser ghost."

The ghost sneered, "Well then shut up and watch emo punk." He waited a moment for the rain of bullets to pause then ran out, knife flipping out. He charged the people with guns first, slitting throats before they could react.

Cal scoffed, "Forgot how fast he is. Che. Come on, Steve." The boy followed after the ghost, taking out people further back in the group with his gun.

Steve sighed, "Humans can be so reckless." He followed the two out into the fight. The cat stuck it's head out of the top of his shirt and yolwed a battle cry for them, "Meeooooow!'
